A Change From Picture Rounds

It can be hard coming up with new and innovative picture round ideas each week for your trivia night. So much so that you will always end up returning to the old favourites – name the celebrity, name the country from the flag, name the landmark, etc. – and these are all good, but sometimes you want something different for your players.
To break up the pattern of the same picture rounds, I like to go for a tabletop round every so often. You will have seen some of these before, quite common being the dingbats round, where words/phrases are represented in alternative ways and the players need to figure out what they are. But there are more than just dingbats. We have recently added a number of tabletop rounds to One Stop Trivia, and they can be found here.
Included in the newly added rounds, we have examples such as 2 Bands, 1 Song, where players are provided with a list of pairs of artists who have released songs that have the same name but are not cover versions. The players need to work out the shared song title.
Also, there are a few anagram rounds available. These can seem easy, but actually can be pretty tough. Especially the Celeb Anagrams where all the names have the same number of letters, but are laid out in a way designed to make it more difficult!
For the travelling pub quizzers, we have Cheers! In which players are provided with a list of ways to say cheers in languages from around the world (plus pronunciation guide) and a list of languages (plus a few red herrings), and the players just need to match them up. Not just fun, but a handy reference guide for drinking around the world!
So check these out for your quizzes, and bring something a little different to your printed rounds!
